How to get my GPA straight?

How can I get a teacher certification if the *** GPA requirement is higher than my *** GPA?

  • I am interested in getting teacher certification but it says that I need at least a 2.5 cumulative GPA as well as a 2.5 GPA in my specialty area. My cumulative GPA is like a 1.9 and I have over 300 credit hours. This is because I have gotten low grades in a lot of courses but I have since gone back and retaken those courses and gotten better grades but by retaking those classes it didn't replace my GPA with the higher grade. It just split the difference and factored in both grades. How can I become a teacher? Is it immpossible? What states are easier to get certification in?

  • Answer:

I would talk to a university advisor. You might need to take more courses and get A's in those courses. Also, I live in Canada, and when I applied to the B.Ed. programme they only looked at my last certain number of credits. I had almost 6 years of credits when I applied and so they didn't count my first 2 years of university.
