Answer:
i don't remember learning about social studies when i was that young. i think i was robbed of a good education ;-) all i remember from that class (8 years of it) is the difference between the legislative, executive, and judicial branches. luckily it's going to be an election year so you'll be able to build on that.

http://www.mytestbook.com/login_please.asp?ref= I found this site to help my son over the summer with math.... It offers printable work sheets and online testing. I have to admit though, that it scares me a little to think that the people we trust for our children's education come to Yahoo Answers for lesson Plans....

now adays it scary you dont knwo what is politically correct start teaching about presidental order maybe and a rough outline of like congress not house and all that but basically what they do. what the order is for a law to be made. math I have no clu I think they are in algebra now IT IS RIDICULOUS!!!!!!!!! maybe have them do a ledger of some sort maybe like ag does. ag does a ledger of selling pigs and cows and feed deductions... maybe you can do soemthing like that with the kids this shows them division and record keeping adding.. sorta like Billy sold 5 cows and got 125.00 after paying 30.00 for tranportation how much of a profit did billy make.. they would have to mark down the 125.00 in profit then under losses 30 show it averaging out... Then you can check their books and that is what their grade will be

All kids these days have ADHD and are major pill popping, depressed, untameable beasts. Good luck.

Keep it fun and interesting as much as possible. Play games and put kids on teams and reward them with extra points on quizzes. I would set up scenarios like the kids work as cashiers. Also when I was in third grade the whole grade had a multiplication bee, which was fun and I learned alot.
