I want to speak fluently in ENGLISH? How can I do it? Any Bright Ideas?

don't worry about the probs we indians feel we face with the fluency. u will take a lot of time to speak english as an american or an english man or even as one of our english medium kids.u should know that they have spent most of their lives in speaking english whereas u and I have spoken english only when we need to speak it( the total time we spoke english will amount to a few hours or days only). we don't have to speak it often because we don't have anybody around who can understand only english and also no one chases us with a stick yelling that we should converse only in english. remember necessity is the mother of invention.if u are in a compulsion to speak only in english, the third day u will find yourself talking in a very fluent english.( try to remember that fluency is the ability to convey your ideas correctly- it is not speaking very fast or speaking with all the slangs that u find the movie stars using in their interviews. forget your worries. there are worser things to worry.

stay in america for a while, u will feel forced to use the language. i have been learning hebrew for 12 years at school and still am not perfect, people tell me that if i went to israel i would get fluent.

Read a lot of books.... hold conversations with native speakers even if u think u r not correct.Watch English programmes and copy the way they speak.

Get a friend who speaks fluent english and hangout with him/her a lot. Or live in place where everyone speaks fluent english.
