How to become a teacher and coach soccer?

  • Recently i thought about becoming a teacher as a possible career. the pay is ok, job is fun, and amazing benefits. i also thought i could maybe coach soccer while i am a teacher. it will make some extra money but i just loving coaching the game. i want to see maybe i can use coaching in high school as a stepping stone to move on to better coaching jobs. i want to make soccer big in america. so my question is, is is smart to become a teacher to coach soccer and if it fails to have that back up? with all answers i would appreciate reason why. thanx for ur help.

    I'm going to school right now to be a teacher and one of the things that my college offers is a coaching specialization. I added that on to my programs and I'm taking kinesiology classes and getting a coaching certification. I would check your college and see if that is an option.

Im brazilian and i live here in the US. The truth is soccer isnt very popular here but depending where you live it might be a good idea as long as youre determined and good at what you...honestly, if youre not good at it its a bad idea because soccer here is like football in brazil not many people play it. Ex: my old high school was really bad at soccer and nobody really joined the team until we had a really good coach that helped us and made us district champions, now the school is a beast :)
