Starting to teach a 10 yr old how to play piano; please help?
-
I have been playing piano for over 10 years and plan on going to a music college. I am currently a junior in high school. There's this little girl I'm going to teach and I need help. I've never taught before. I plan on getting a piano series book, such as the Alfred series. But I would really appreciate if someone could give me an outline of what I should teach. Just a list, in order, of what concepts to teach. Something like: 1) note names 2) note value 3) rhythm etc. I just need an outline of what to do. And if you have any tips on how to make the lesson fun or interesting, or recommendations about books, I would appreciate it! Any suggestions are great! Thank you! :D
