What are the steps I need to take to become a Substitute Teacher in Los Angeles, CA?
-
I graduated with a B.A. in Liberal Studies and I have passed the CBEST. I am currently taking classes towards getting my Teaching Credential and will not be finished until next spring. I would like to try substitute teaching until I am finished. Working as a Teacher Assistant does not pay enough and I've done that for the last two years. What are all the steps I need to take to become a sub, preferrably LA County?
-
Answer:
1) Go to the LAUSD office building downtown at 333 S. Beaudry. 2) Have a pulse. ;-) Seriously, the need for subs is great and emergency credentials are easily arranged for someone in your circumstances. If you show up on time and keep things reasonably under control you'll get plenty of work.
