Are there any internships offered to high school graduates in Toronto?

Salary difference between an elementary, middle school, high school teacher? Toronto Canada?

  • I'm applying to concurrent education soon, but I'm not sure if I should teach middle school or high school. To teach at a high school, I would need to minor in something...and I'm not sure which subject I'd like to make my second teachable yet. If there is no big difference in the salary, I may just stick with middle school. Also would there be a way to go from teaching at a middle school, to a high school? =) Thanks a lot!

  • Answer:

In the states, teachers at all levels make the same in within a school district. It also doesn't matter what you teach, so a PE teacher, Math teacher, and Art teacher all make the same, at all grade levels. In my state, we can also choose grade 1-6, 5-9, or 7-12 to get certified in. We can take extra classes to extend our certification as well. So I am currently certified math 7-12 through my bachelors degree, but for my masters, I am going to get my certification for birth through grade 6. So I can teach middle or high school math, or anyhting pre-k through 6. I'm not sure how it is in canade, but I can't imagine it is too different (other than the grade levels you can get your degree in--which is different between states here too).
