How to become a secondary modern foreign languages teacher in Switzerland?
-
I have Qualified Teacher Status and citizenship in the UK. I am fluent in French and German. I know about the residency permits etc. How easy is it to find a teaching job in Switzerland?
-
Answer:
As you speak French and German, you will have no problems filling out any paper work and speaking with whoever you need to. Firstly, get in touch with the immigration department in the Swiss government and ask if you have a skill which is required first. You may find that there is not a need for MFL teachers over there anyway. If you are accepted then you should firstly try searching on the TES website and see if there are any internation vacancies available for MFL in Switzerland. Also, have a look on the Swiss teaching websites or government pages. Good luck with your future career and I envy you very much, Switzerland is an amazing country!
