What's on the Nevada driving skills test?

Need Second opinions about this question on Parent Taught Driver. Thank you.?

  • Okay, I'm doing the Parent Taught Driver Education (PTDE), for my daughter. Well, we signed her up for a approved driving class according to Texas. Well this is what they had on their website (the driving course) - "The student must take a written and vision examination prior to receiving the Texas Driver License Instruction permit. However, the skills (driving) test will be waived for teenagers who complete both classroom and behind-the-wheel portions of a Texas driver education course. The instructor participating in the Parent Taught Driver Education Program has the option to waive the skills (driving) test or require the student to pass the skills (driving) test administered by DPS prior to issuing a Class C driver license." Okay, my question is, when I take my daughter to get her license, do she HAVE to take the DRIVING TEST or is it mandatory? Whats your opinion on whats its saying? Thank you.

  • Answer:

From the passage above, it appears that the option is left to the instructor [in this case the parent] - whether the student should or should not take the skills test. It does not appear mandatory. You can have it waived if you like.
