How can a teacher get hired to work from home either teaching online or related work online?

  • How can a qualified teacher work online (ie work from home) either instructing or designing curriculum? English as a Second Language and other middle school subjects. Curriculum or web based course design is prefered. I live in a remote area with few teaching opportunities available so I wonder if I could work in a field related to online education.

    My school system has online courses as does the state offer some. Check with your tech department. They always seem to know what's going on.

my best advice would be look in maybe setting up your own website or blog. Put together your cirrculums on there and sell them. then advertise your site on home schooling or mom chat rooms or groups who would be interested in your products. Also maybe check out slyva (do not know exactly how its spelled). It is a program that parents pay for to tutor there kids online. They have live online teaches that help with homework or subjects they are struggling with. Hope this helps

There's a database called Tutor.com that provides online tutoring. All the instructors there are certified teachers and subject experts, so you might try contacting them about job openings.
