How to take A-levels from home?

Can you take a levels at home?

• Colleges won't accept me with 4 GCSEs because i don't have 6. I find this completely ridiculous that a college won't a let me take English even though i got 2 As in the subject. So colleges are basically saying that we would rather have a more average student who gets Cs in 6 subjects to take English rather than a student who got an A but doesn't have GCSEs in other subjects. Don't you think it would be better if all colleges required a minimum of 4 GCSEs and the students with the highest grades get the course and not the student who got more GCSEs who may not even be capable of doing the subject. The college keeps offering Btecs which i don't like because i'm more of an exam person
