How much is a spanish tutor?

If I want to tutor, what subjects can I tutor and how much can I charge?

  • This summer I am considering tutoring some high school or college kids that may need help in their courses to make some cash. I am currently a sophomore in college and I have taken these courses. Based on them what subjects/and or subject levels do you think I could tutor? How much should I charge per hour? It seems like a pretty easy gig. I am a geology major if that counts. I have taken: Math Classes: Algebra 1&2 Geometry Pre-Calculus Differential Calculus Integral Calculus Vector and Multivariable Calculus Ordinary Differential Equations Geology Classes: Physical Geology Historical Geology Mineralogy Sedimentology and Stratigraphy Structural Geology Geologic Field Methods Petrology Chemistry Classes: High School Chemistry University Chemistry I and Lab University Chemistry II and Lab Physics Classes: Electricity and Magnetism Mechanics

  • Answer:

You seem well-equipped to tutor in Math and Science. I would also add Reading and Writing to the list as you no doubt are proficient in those areas as well. Deciding what to charge depends on supply and demand of tutors. If you are in high demand, you can charge more. To start, I suggest $15 an hour. As long as parents and students feel you are worth it per hour, they will continue to come back for future sessions.
