What's the best book to read for first graders?

• This is about lollipops. It was hard trying to find flavors for lollipops with every letter, especially X! Let me know what you think? Cherries are red and on ice cream sundaes they go on top! 6. Letter pop D is for dark chocolate! Dark chocolate is a type of chocolate that’s just as delicious and perfect. 7. Letter pop E is for Easter candy! Easter candy is a yummy treat that can’t be beat. 8. F is the next letter pop. F is for french toast! French toast is the breakfast dish I love the most. 9. Letter pop G is for grape! Grapes are purple, round and loved by lots to people. 10. Letter pop H is for honey! Honey is delicious, bears love it in their tummies. 11. I is the next letter pop. I is for icing! Icing covers cakes and cookies also known as frosting. 12. Letter pop J is for jelly bean! Jelly beans come in different colors and flavors, they hold a surprise in every bite. 13. Letter pop K is for kiwi! Kiwi is a fruit that is healthy, bright green and unique. 14. L is the next letter pop. L is for licorice! Licorice can be sweet or tart but it is always a choice that is smart. 15. Letter pop M is for marshmallow! Marshmallow is soft and sugary, its great in cocoa or on a stick. 16. We are halfway there Learning all the letters It’s fun to read together Each letter has a name No two are the same 17. Letter pop N is for nectarine! Nectarine is a fruit similar to a peach, eating fruits is important to teach and easy to reach. 18. Letter pop O is for orange! Orange is a fruit and a color it is the best pick because you’ll never be sick. 19. The next letter pop is P. P is for pumpkin pie! For the holidays this is a famous pie to be shared with the family. 20. Letter pop Q is for quince! A quince is a fruit that is used to make jams and jellies. 21. Letter pop R is for raspberry! Raspberries are a reddish-purple fruit that are very healthy. 22. S is the next letter pop. S is for sugar cookies! Sugar cookies are the best goodies. 23. Letter pop T is for toffee! Toffee is nice and goey, it will having you saying oooo weee! 24. Letter pop U is for upside-down cake! An upside-down cake is very delicious and fun to bake. 25. The next letter pop is V. V is for vanilla! The vanilla letter pop is so good it’ll get you in a great mood. 26. Letter pop W is the next up. W is for watermelon! Watermelon is a fun fruit with seeds that fill all your needs. 27. Letter pop X is for x-ray! X-ray is a unique letter pop given by your doctor for being a good visitor. 28. Letter pop Y is for yogurt! Yogurt is yummy and full of vitamins if you know what I mean. 29. The last Letter pop is Z. Z is for lemon Zest! Zest means a kick of flavor and lemon makes it that much better.

  Looks good and like kids would have fun with it. Some of the content may be difficult on account of varying prior knowledge of students. Perhaps a glossary would help. Good luck.
