Can you get homeschooled through your public school?

Do you think students get a better education homeschooled than in public school?

  • I dropped out of high school and part of me thinks I may have succeeded if I was homeschooled where I would have had more one on one attention. Since I stuggled in high school and the class sizes were larger, I think homeschooling might have saved me from having to drop out.

  • Answer:

Depends on the student and parent. We HS all four kids. They are all way to smart for their own good. It is never to late to learn. BTW: I am a public school teacher.

well i really depends on the student really..if the student is one who is self disciplined then yeah home schooling would be best, because student can be able to spend enough time on his books and finish his syllabus on time because, instead of spending much time on break time and lunch time,he could be home reading and getting on with his books, the child too can stay up late, reading without the fear of waking up late for school...by this,he gets done with the syllabus earlier

I think that depends completely on who is schooling you. I know that public school can be irritating because you have to take classes that may not interest you, but being homeschooled is only benificial if it is on a schedule and you basically follow the same rules and schedule. Also if you are homeschooled you can loose a lot of the people skills and interactions of public school. Just make sure you at least get a GED.

No! Many of my close family members were home schooled and as their "education" was decent, their social skills are horrendous! So much of success in life is based upon social skills and if those are not in place, children are headed for trouble. I think it should be illegal for a parent to home school unless they have obtained the required certification that is asked of public school teachers. It's doing children an injustice and they don't have any say in the matter! You can have all the one-on-one attention you need, but if your teacher doesn't know what she/he's doing, you won't get an education!

It's worth a try. If that is not a choice, there are charter schools.

I beleive so but who can afford to stay home and teach?

By the time a student is a teen, he doesn't need someone to stay home with him in order to learn. Check out this book: http://lowryhousepublishers.com/TeenageLiberationHandbook.htm Now, you can't go back and do it over, but it is NEVER too late to get a good education. All the best.
