What should I wear to an interview for a nursing position?

What to wear to an interview for a teaching assistant position?

  • So I just got an interview with a local museum for an assistant teaching position for a few weeks in the summer! :D I am SO excited, but I have absolutely no idea what to wear. This is actually my very first interview and I don't want to over dress, but I certainly don't want to under-dress either. The position, as I said, is for an assistant teaching position at a camp they run at the museum. I appreciate all your help. Also, if you can give me any advice for interviews, period, that would be wonderful. My social anxiety is almost crippling, soooo. Needless to say, I'm nervous about screwing this up. ):

GCFLearnFree.org has free tutorials on how to prepare for interviews: http://www.gcflearnfree.org/interviewskills It includes instructional text, informational graphics, examples, and even interactives for you to practice what you've learned/actually apply what you've learned. It discusses what you should wear to an interview and what questions you can anticipate being asked. It's best to wear professional clothes to an interview, even if the attire you would wear during employment is much more casual. Something fitting for an office environment, so dress slacks, dress shoes, a nice blouse/shirt/sweater, clean, neat hair and general clean and tidy appearance. If you need additional help for things like writing a resume or job searching, there are tutorials for that as well: http://www.gcflearnfree.org/career Hope it helps and Good Luck!

Business Casual. Just wear a nice pair of slacks and a cute top, like a blouse, and a nice pair of flats. I suggest not wearing heels. For this position you will be on your feet a lot, and you want to dress for the position, so wear flats. Don't over-do the jewelry and keep your make-up natural. Keep your hair out of your face. Basically just wear business casual and make sure you look put together and you will be fine. For the interview: Make and keep eye contact Sit up straight and smile. Don't fidget Be Confident! Be yourself! Be prepared to answer questions about disciplining children. Don't worry too much. You sound very excited about this position and I am sure they will see that.
