How long does it take to become a medical assistant program?

Can someone please tell me how can I become a Teachers Assistant in the New York public school district?

• Hi. I have been trying my best to get information on how to become a teachers assistant certified by New York state. I have called the schools but don't get the correct sources. I understand that I need to take some courses on line from New York state. Is there a website that I can obtain all this information? Your help would be greatly appreciated. Thank you.   Hi Grace, Go to the NYSTCE website. They will give test dates and locations. To become a certified TA in NY, you need to take and pass an exam (ATAS). When I took it, it cost $35. You also need to have a high school education, and if you haven't already, you need to submit your fingerprints to the State Ed dept. This will cost about $99. Then you need to take a couple of workshops--one on child abuse and neglect, and school violence prevention. After that is done, you submit a formal application to State Ed. I believe this also costs $35. You do not need to go to college to earn this certification. If you want to become a certified teacher, you do. Hope this answers your questions. Best of luck!
