Are preschool teachers in demand in Canada?

Is there a high demand for French/Spanish teachers in Canada?

  • I want to learn French so that I can teach it. I am already enrolled. I decided to enrol in this program because I am very interested in languages (I will also be taking Spanish). I know both languages well enough to converse in them already and I am passionate about the course.... so, is there a demand in Canada for French and Spanish teachers? (I have read from the news that there is a decline in demand for teachers due to the recession and the decrease in child births... but as I was thinking, more teachers will retire and there will be more jobs for this position after I graduate. I will graduate in 2016). What do you think? Please share your opinion!!! Much is appreciated! Thanks! :)

  • Answer:

Your thinking is on que . You must think and focus different though You must think that there is always a demand for a GOOD TEACHER Be the best at whatever you do The best that you can be and always be up to date in everything Then there is always a demand for your services even if there are thousands Contrary to what someone comented even though French is taught in schools and there are many native speakers of French THERE ARE NOT ENOUGH TEACHERS AND ON THAT GOOD TEACHERS I teach Spanish here in Canada and even though I am retired from a regular job I keep busy doing it. Take advantage of going to University and become also a translator and interpreter because there is a lot of demand as well. With Heritage language programme you also have an opportunity to teach languages. In Canada which is by CONSTITUTION a multicultural country there exist a free service for the citizens paid by the government to teach the native languages of the citizens even if the they are immigrants. There you have the opinion or a Teacher and Translator of these languages.

There will always be some demand, but not a high demand. There are many native speakers of French in Canada, so there may not be many jobs for people who have learned it as a second language. Spanish is a different matter. If you earn good marks and distinguish yourself as a student, there will be a job for you.
