What can one do with an MA in Education?

If you were a school principal would you hire a teacher with a MA in Special Education or Literacy?

• If you were a principal of an elementary school and were looking to hire a teacher for a general education class, would you be more likely to hire a teacher with a MA literacy or an MA in special education? Please explain why? Lets say you were to pick between 2 teachers with the same amount of teaching experience. One has a MA in Special Education and the other has a MA in Literacy. Which teacher would you prefer?

  i would say it depend on the vacany need, do you need the teacher to teach language or a teacher who can be all rounded for the daily special needs of children in the school? i beleive the special education teacher has more to offer to the school, eduaction as whole, the children special needs, the parenst surpost systems need with kids with ADD , Attntion deficit, behaviurla issues etc. it will also relect very positively towards the school ,imagine anewsletter to theparent telling them you have hired a teacher with special eduaction specaility..thats a PLUS PICK THE TECAHER WITH MA SPECIAL EDUCATION. ..that alone tell you alot of his cahracter , caring, patient and most probably love teaching!
