How To Get An Ethiopian Crb Check?

I'm thinking of becoming a private tutor. How easy is it to get a CRB check?

  • I've just been looking on the CRB website. It talks a lot about Employers using CRB checks when they employ you, but if you are self employed, How exactly do you go about it? Surely the parent of every child you teach can't separately conduct a CRB check! How do CRB checks work in this situation?

  • Answer:

This paragraph from the site might help you: Can I register with the ISA if I am self employed? Yes, from 26 July 2010, if you are self employed, work with either children or vulnerable adults and meet the requirements for regulated activity, you can and may choose to register with the ISA. It is not a mandatory requirement to do so, but you may be asked by potential employers to confirm that you are registered to work with children or vulnerable adults. For example, you may be a tutor carrying out private tuition at family homes; the persons responsible for a child or vulnerable adult to whom you are providing lessons are entilted to ask whether you are registered with the ISA before employing you and not being registered may affect their decision to do so. (It might be best to phone the CRB office and clarify your position. I think most parents now would expect you to be registered with the ISA.)
