What qualifications are needed to become a counsellor?

  • i am 14 years old, and am thinking about becoming a counsellor.. what qualifications are needed at GCSE level and higher if needed? also what does being a counsellor involve whats the pay like?

  • Answer:

At a general basis any gcses including english maths and sciences, At A level any selected including psychology You can then take Psychology at University and then a Masters in Counselling Or after A levels there are separate courses available at colleges to learn counselling Being a counsellor involves helping people with problems such as depression illness or even somebody to talk to and you must be open and not direct some1 but to give them all the options possible The pay varies a lot and is hard work, best thing to do is focus on your gcses keep your options open and if you desire being a counsellor work hard Good luck!
