What is it like to be a Speech and Language Pathologist?

Speech Language Pathologist?

  • I would like to pursue a career in Speech Therapy. But my only problem is, I have cleft palate and am afraid it may discourage future employers. I can speak well and clearly and it isn't a problem communicating with others. But I guess I'm just worried about being rejected... If you're a Speech Language Pathologist or Employer of one...would my disability be a problem in this profession?

  • Answer:

If you can speak clearly, without an accent, then it will be cool. Remember as a Speech Language Pathologist, you will be working with kids with language impairments just as much or more than articulation problems. You may want to look up some of the facets of the job.
