What Education do i need to become a Nurse Midwife?

I am a Junior in High school and i have decided that i want to be a Nurse Midwife, how much schooling and how long will it take to get there, my local community college does not exactly have educational programs for Nurse Midwife, what do i need to do to get there? Thank You!

Answer:
Well at minimum you will need to become an LVN, which is a two year program. You could also do practicums at local hospitals labor and delivery. A four year RN degree would be even better. You could also check with some local midwives in your area and find out what kind of schooling they completed to get their credentials.
