What kind of jobs are there working with little kids?

I love working with kids that have disabilities. I dont know what kind of jobs or degrees to look into?

  • Disabilities such as, ADD, ADHD, bi-polar, schizophrenic, autism(my favorite ), etc. I DON'T want to be a special ed teacher!!!

  • Answer:

Disability support worker Teachers aides Residential worker/House Parents Social Workers Social Work Assistants Counselors Welfare Officers Health Care Attendants Home Care Workers Therapy Aides Disability advocate Speech & language therapist Behavioural therapist Occupational therapist Physiotherapist Educational Psychologist All of the above work with people with disabilities. The qualifications can vary from country to country. In most cases there would be at lest a 2-6 year course, earning either a diploma, degree, masters degree etc.

Do they like working with you is the question. You're a special person. Talk to a college counselor. You'd want a degree in psychology with a minor in special ed. Then a special ed credential (if you want to teach), or a MSW (institutional) or MFCC (private practice) if you want to counsel. J.F.K> University has an amazing graduate program in psychology.. How would you know if a child has such a serious illness such as one of these? Perhaps the environment is the issue. Alot of these problems have physical causes, yoo know.
