Ask people to help you to correct your usage and pronunciation. If you need a good place to practice using English, contact local schools. They may have students who are learning to speak your native language. You could help them, and they could help you.

try to read english as much as you can,preferably Magazines.

immersion is the key. Watch english movies / television. Go to places where you are forced to speak english to communicate with other people.

I was asked this question when I went to teach in the Philippines. My suggestion was to watch American movies and television and repeat what they say. Learning slang will help. Read a magazine outloud. Read a paper outloud. I think that will help you tons.

Just relax. Get as much information as you can on things before you speak about them. That way the chances of you feeling stupid while speaking in front of a crowd are slim because you know what you're talking about. When you do speak about these things don't forget to enunciate. That way the chances of your audience getting the feeling you're stupid are slim as well because they feel you are well read and sure of yourself. It makes them comfortable to know you're comfortable. Keep it interesting, too. Know what your audience or whoever you're talking to is into. Oh, right, just watch the movies! British ones!
