Apprenticeship salary?

Question about doing an apprenticeship?

• well right now im studying in england uk and i'm in year 10. i was wondering if after i finish high school i should apply to go to college and do an apprenticeship or just do an apprenticeship? my mum doesn't want me to do an apprenticeship because she said that the government wont give her child tax credit anymore because i am an only child. but i was wondering if i do an apprenticeship and i get paid i will obviously give the money to my mum. i understand that i have to go to college at least once a week if i am planning to do an apprenticeship. my mum says that i should just go to college and get a job at McDonald's or something on a weekend. what do you think i should do? and the apprenticeship i am looking to do is accountancy. also, do i have to pay for an apprenticeship or is it free? oh and by the way, after i finish high school, do i apply for an apprenticeship straight away or do i wait until i have a place at college and then apply? thanks
