Colleges with programs for students with autism or Asperger Syndrome?
-
I need to know about colleges that have programs for students with Asperger syndrome. My brother has high functioning Aspergers syndrome. He is 19, and has just started going to a community college. My Brother is a very smart person; he is smarter than most people I know. He knows a lot of stuff about different things, but some times its like having a gift and a curse. I mean that because he is very smart, but he has a hard time having basic conversations with people. I would say about half the things he talks about go wright over our heads. Plus he has trouble making his mind up about things, and being independent. So I would like for him to be able to go to a college that can help him get through it with support and understanding. I want him to be able to apply his knowledge to get a degree is something he would love to do, and I want him to learn to be independent. So that he can one day have a actual job, feel good about doing something, and maybe one day be able to live by himself. So do you know of any colleges with this kind of program, in the ohio area? Any information would be greatly appreciated. Thanks.
