What are the major subjects in accountancy?

What subjects should i take in college?

  • im getting my gcse results on thursday 27th august and after that i have to decide which subjects im definately going to take. I would like to be a bank manager in the far future so i would like to start off in the banking industry after college. hopefully when i finish college the recession would have died down lol. is it a good idea to go straight into banking after college? if so what position is it likely i will have? would it be a better idea to go to uni? but more importantly what subjects should i take at college? i have a rough idea: Maths Business studies Accountancy Financial studies Economics i will be taking japanese as well because i really want to do it and no one is going to persuade me otherwise lol. i think taking all 6 subjects is a bit much since i also want to get a part time job along side my college course. i dont know how many a levels i should be taking. japanese is a gcse not an A level. so which subjects should i take if i want to go into banking and how many subjects should i take in total so that i have gaps in my timetable or days off etc? thanks

  • Answer:

take maths, accountancy and economics - financial studies is surely something made up! yes, you can go straight into banking after college, but it might make more sense to take a degree in a finance subject. i think 3 is the most a levels you should take in order to have a job too. straight after college, your position at a bank would be on the shop floor, maybe on the counters.
