What are the requirements to become a Special Education Assistant in Minneapolis Public Schools?

• What are the requirements to become a Special Education Assistant in Minneapolis Public Schools? I go to a place called Transition Plus Services, it’s a special education program within Minneapolis Public Schools that is a program designed to provide an adult environment for 18-21 year old young adults with disabilities and identified transition needs. This is my second out of my third year with the program. In my opinion, this is an excellent program and has helped me enhanced my job skills and has taught me to appreciate the special education services that Minneapolis Public School offers. This year, I have been given the title “Student body President” and been asked to help other students with their work because there is not a Special Education Assistant (S.E.A) on hand. I have also been to assist with student-student conflicts. I enjoy working with other students because I believe that an education and knowledge are extremely important. My Case Manger/Advisor and other staff members have recommended that I enter the career of education. They state that I work extremely well with the other students, explain things well and that I have an overall caring personally. Also, as I stated before, I enjoy working with other students that have need extra help. So, since I gave you since background information, what are the requirements to become an S.E.A?
