What is a nursery grant?

About nursery founding/grant?

  • I live in London and I want to put my daughter to one nursery(which is very good nursery),where they said in their information that they do not accept children who get nursery founding. From what I know every nursery should help register children with or without getting grant, they should not make problem about that. I would like to apply for the nursery founding and I would not let the nursery know that, but i think they might found out about it, can you give any suggestion?

  • Answer:

It the situation in the UK is the same is in Alabama, US... then the daycare is not required to accept funded kids.... in our area, the kids who receive day-care assistance are at a much lower amount than the daycares usually charge... because of this many daycares will not accept funding assitance children, especially the ones with wait lists & special programs Unfortunately, it isn't uncommon for a lower income parent to have no choice but to use a day-care that is not as good as the best and is also much farther away from home and also far away from work... to find one with an opening that also accepts kids on assistance... because the daycare must accept that child for the amount the assistance pays..... if the assistance only pays $50 per week & the day care normally charges $110 per week, then it isn't likely the day-care will accept a child on assistance In my area... the funds are not given to the parent to pay for the daycare, they are given directly to the day-care provider
