Am I eligible for Financial aid if I'm not a Resident?

Anyone knows about financial aid and how it works? Im a bit lost.?

  • I started community college for the first time this summer and financial aid got me covered. They will give me a refund as well. Now my question is how many times you can get financial aid a year? Im going to register in the fall and they told me to apply again so they can pay for that too. My problem understanding is theres 2 or 3 semesters in one year. So every time i register for those times do i get financial aid each time I heard they only give you financial aid once a year only, then how will this work? Thank you in advance!

  • Answer:

Financial aid is issued on a semester by semester basis. You only apply for FAFSA aid once per year, and the school then distributes your aid divided in half (Half for Spring, Half for Fall). You need to apply with the school for additional aid through FAFSA if you attend for the summer. As long as you meet the minimum requirements for financial aid (GPA, attendance, completion percentage, residency, maximum hours completed), you will continue to receive aid every semester.
