Is the Solano Community College in Fairfield, CA a good place to enter?

How much financial aid is normally given to independent students at community colleges?

  • I applied for fafsa but its still processing I'm going to solano community college in fairfield California. Thank you!

  • Answer:

If you make $800 a month and get independent status you should be able to get all your tution, plus books and even a check back for the remainder. Your EFC seems to be about 0 so as long as you stay inside a community college you should be able to go for free. I don't know what those other two are talking about. Even if you did have parents, parental income seems to get "in the way" when your parents are against financial aid (mines are) and you have to look for options to get financial aid anyways

Other answers

If you are actually independent (over 24, married, or have kids) your financial aid package will be based on your income, assets, and cost of attendance. There's no "normal" amount since everyone has a different financial situation.
