Where should I do medical volunteering in Africa?

Volunteering in Africa... can I get a grant? ?

  • I'm volunteering in Kenya in the summer, for four weeks, helping in an orphanage. I'm not doing it through a charity, it's through more of a travel agent. Am I entitled to a grant to help me pay for it? If so, how do I get one? Where do I look? Also, I'll only be 17 so the grant would have to be eligible for people under 18... Please help, I'm completely clueless about grants and things, thanks! :)

  • Answer:

No you don't get any form of financial aid whatsoever to volunteer anywhere, whether it's in Africa or Asia, Antarctica or Mars. People who normally go and volunteer in a country or continent outside theirs, usually have the money to spare or at least have parents or guardians who will sponsor their trip.
