How do I find out how much I owe in student loans?

How can I find out exactly how much money I owe for student loans?

  • I am currently in college, with about a year and a half left of school and was wondering were i could go, or who I need to contact to findout exactly how much money I owe for student loans currently. I have attened more than one university while in school and have taken only take out subsudized loans.

  • Answer:

If you have all federal student loans, you can visit the National Student Loan Database (nslds.ed.gov) which keeps a record of all federal student loans. If you also have private student loans, there is no central agency that tracks that information, but you could get a free copy of your credit report at annualcreditreport.com and that should list your private student loans. Good luck!
