What are Community College Requirements?

For those in New Jersey...What are the requirements to get into Hudson County Community College?

• Please tell me the steps. I'm a senior in High School (17) and I'm aiming to get into HCCC or any community college near my area. I heard that GPA doesn't really matter. So what are the steps and requirements to get into community college?

  You should be able to apply to HCCC now. Go to their website, their application materials for the fall should be up by now. You'll need a HS diploma by the time you enter the college. Your GPA doesn't matter, so long as you get the diploma. You'll need to fill out their application form, and have your high school send your transcripts to-date (as well as final transcripts once you graduate.) You can apply now, for next fall. Once you are admitted to the school, you'll go in to take their placement test... unless you took the SATs. If you took the SATs, send them to the college, even though they don't require the SAT for admission. The SATs can take the place of their placement test, saving you time and money. You'll be able to fill out the FAFSA in January. The FAFSA is what you use to apply for financial aid. Fill it out as early as you can - January. Send it to every college you apply to. They'll use it to calculate the aid you'll be offered. You are welcome to visit each of the colleges before or after you apply to them. You can contact admissions to find out when they offer campus tours and etc. You can also check out their websites to find out what majors they offer, what programs/extra curriculars, etc. All of this can help you figure out which college you'll end up choosing to go to.
