What are some scholarships for a junior like me?

Can you apply for scholarships from a school, even if you don't know if you're going there?

  • I'm a high school junior looking into scholarships for the first time. I have no idea where I want to go to college, but I know that most legitimate ones come from the school itself. Can you get scholarships from a school if you are unsure if you will attend, or are those scholarships reserved for existing students? (I'd also like some help on where to find good scholarships....like ones that I can get without competing with 1000000000 other people).

  • Answer:

No you will not be awarded a university provided scholarship if you decide not to attend that university. They are for students at THAT university only. As for where to get scholarships, your best resource would be regional rewarded ones (aka scholarships that are awarded only to people in your geographic area). I would check with your high school guidance counselor or their office. They might have a list of local scholarships. Good luck!
