How much finacial aid is this?

About how much could I expect Financial Aid to pay for CC of Philadelphia? (Independent, out-of-state student)?

• I asked this question last night, but as I was tired, I left out the point I was trying to make / question I was trying to get answered. So it's re-worded this time. I'm an Independent student with New York residency. Being an independent, financial aid more or less paid for my entire tuition at a NY community college. I plan on moving to Philadelphia in December. I don't want to give up my education, but as I'd have out-of-state tuition, I'm wondering if immediately returning to school would be a good decision, or if it would just be too expensive. When I asked the question last night, y!a's Gypsy more or less explained to me that my personal approximate semester's tuition for Community College of Philadelphia would be about $6000. Given that my financial aid status is as an Independent student, working a minimum-wage job, without any dependents, parental help, government help, etc. (I don't know if that's relevant, or if those questions on FAFSA were just to determine whether or not I was an independent?) My question is about how much would Financial Aid contribute to the tuition of this school / how much would I end up having to pay?

  The most financial aid will pay is 5500 per school year, which leaves 2750 for the spring semester. With a bill of about $6000 per semester you are looking to pay about 3250 which is more than 1/2. My best bet is to establish residency in Philadepelphia (living there 3 or more months plus obtaining driver's licence out to do it) and go for in state tution. If you go out of state you will need to get a student loan and the amount won't even cover books and other supplies You could always wait until the fall and try again if you want to
