How exactly do scholarships work??

How do scholarships work EXACTLY ?? PLZZ answer?

• i'm a palestinian refugee student in lebanon and i'm aiming to get a scholarship to a university in the US or Canada ,but i'm lost a bit . who gives the scholarship ( financial aid ) , the university only or the financial aid for palestinian students ,or both? and it how HARD is it to get a scholarship to a US university , let's say average level university , not princeton , yale -.- etc...

  The US does not provide financial aid for foreign students. The government doesn't even have the money it gives/loans to American students... As far as scholarships, most schools do not give substantial scholarships to international students. You would have to be the best of the best in order to be competitive. There is no "financial aid for Palestinian students" unless your country offers it. Any scholarships you could get would either come from your own country or the school you wish to attend. You MUST have money and lots of it to go to college in the US.
