Is it possible to transfer my credits from a community college to a private college?

Community College credits transfer? HELP?

  • HI. so it's my first year at community college after graduating from High School and I am hoping to transfer to a UC in around 2 years and I kind of just F**cked up my transcript cause of this cooking class that I took. I missed the final and I got a D-I'm going to try and beg the teacher to see if she can drop me cause I don't want it on my transcript. But I was wondering does it matter if I got a D in cooking class? I'm planning on majoring in some type of Engineering and I'm just really f**cking pissed right now cause if it does f**u**ck up my transcript then I"m gonna kill someone...jkjk....but seriously I am going to be pissed if I can't get into the college I want due to some piece of sh*tt cooking class... any help please?

  • Answer:

CC are usually satisfied with a diploma. It'd be bad if you were trying to apply to a 4-year school, but otherwise, it's OK. When you transfer after CC, 4-year will often ignore your HS transcripts.

Just ask your teacher it wont hurt to ask maybe she will let you take the test again

NO - do not ask that teacher to drop you... there is no such thing as "dropping" once you have taken the class. Her only option would be a "W" and that would be very bad. You are better off with that D than you will be with a "W". you could ask for an opportunity to take final exam... maybe even offer to take a deduction off the grade because you weren't there to take the exam when it was scheduled. Even if they took 25% off the grade, a grade of 75 is better than a grade of 0. Perhaps then you would pull-up to a C in the class. This isn't High School. Things don't get taken off your transcript. Not only do they affect your transcript, they also affect your ability to continue to get Financial Aid. Does it matter if you get a D in a cooking class? I would hope so... it shows you didn't make a reasonable effort (or, as you have proven, didn't even bother to show up for the final exam) What should you do? Continue at the Community College & get good grades in everything else. That will pull your gpa up & then that cooking class won't matter because you will have lots of other things on your transcript for them to look at.
