Dropped out of college, i have No dime, and depressed.?
-
i have made the stupidest mistake in my life. i was a freshmen at a university. since my mother did not work i was able to get Financial aid and almost a full ride through grants and AIMs scholarship. i took so much community college courses on summers during my high school that i was so unprepared for college. i can not write essay to save my life and its so hard for me to study materials that do not interest me. before class registration, one of my friend suggested me that i take a German studies class. she told me that there was not much reading. so i tried to concentrate on my other classes and i stared to get bad grades on that class. (she lied it was the hardest class on campus). i was also suffering from depression and anxiety. i try so hard, study alot and still get ok grades. so that really frustrated me. so i went to see the psychiatrists and they suggested that i should take a medical withdraw. i also had a job at the laboratory that i had to quit. i was almost a sophomore my freshman year because of my college credits. i don't think i could meet the English proficiency test if i had to test for it. i am screwed up. so i left college 2 month before the freshman fall ended. so now i have no credits at that school and did not register for spring because of i had to check out of my hall and no place to live. so i dont think i qualify for FAFSA anymore since i withdrew from school. i was a biology major. i am considering to seriously kill my self. i worked so hard my high school it frustrates me. i can not concentrate in more than 2 hard subjects at school. i always feel insecure and i dont have friends that i can rely on. i wanted major in biology and possibly go for medical school. NOT ANYMORE! i wanted to do something that had good paying job to help my family out. (even though they said they dont need any assistance). but now i want to go to school to support myself in the future! so should i just die and get it over with? and i am terrified of being alone! i am so scared of everything. i am so anxious to do anything anymore. what the heck should i do?!?!

Answer:
Since you've been diagnosed with depression or similar, you are no longer eligible for the military, so the first person's suggestion won't work for you. That said, you do have options. First, before you return to school - and you CAN return to school - make sure your health is good enough for you to return. Don't just return and struggle - make sure you're in treatment for your mental health issues, and doing okay on that treatment. Only once you're ready to return to school, should you return. And you will be welcome to return to this college, or go to community college. You had a medical withdrawal - that will not be held against you. You will still qualify for financial aid. There are other fields within health that you can look at for careers. It's also not necessarily the case that you have to give up on med school. If you return to school only once you are ready, and if you do well once you return, then one term of Ws that you got due to medical issues will not keep you out. But again, only return to school once you're truly ready to return. But you do need to be in treatment for your depression, anxiety, and the insecurity you feel. Make that your #1 priority - get into treatment for those things. Much of what you're feeling right now - the feeling of being overwhelmed, the anxiety, the worry, the insecurity, the suicidal thoughts - may very well be due to your health issues. Being in treatment could make a major difference in your life. Once you do return to school, take only the number of classes you can realistically handle. If that means you are only a part-time student at first, then so be it. As for your reading and writing skills: when you do return to school, go to the writing center on campus in the first week. Have them teach you how to write an essay. Then work with them on every essay over the course of the semester. Essay writing is a learned skill, and the writing center is there to help you learn such things, so use them.

You tried hard and that's what counts. I'm not doing so well in college either so your not alone! I say focus on getting a stable job and save your money like there's no tomorrow. Then if your goal is to go back to college than do so, but Never give up!

Have you ever considered the military? After about 6-8 weeks of basic military training (BMT) which is the hardest part, you can begin technical training in which you study a career of your choice (basically). They provide housing, you are being paid to be in school, and your making lots of money. If you every get deployed, you will get a big bonus check. Lots of money you can save for when you do decide to return to civilian lifestyle. Think about it. It isn't as bad as many people perceive it to be. (Can't tell if your trolling or not but if you aren't, I hope you consider all your options before you do anything drastic)
