Can I cancel financial aid after being selected for verification?

you do not have to cancel your FAFSA application, once you do not provide your taxes to your FA office, they will not continue with that FAFSA. However, you may be able to use another FAFSA to get around the verification. For example, if you were selected for verification for the 07/08 FAFSA, since that FAFSA year is ending, you can tell your FA office that you only want to be considered for the 08/09 FAFSA results.

If you simply do not want to use financial aid now, regardless of the verification selection just notify your financial aid office of such and they will stop sending you reminders to submit documents. There is nothing to "cancel" per se, but letting them know you are not going to need the financial aid is helpful to them and they will stop nagging you about doing it.
