Yes you can recieve financial aid at a new school even if you have exceeded credit hours at the first school. There are two things that you need to do: 1) update your fafsa with the new school's code 2) once you have recived confirmation e-mail go check with your school so your financial aid intent can be declared I did just the same a few weeks ago.
