How can I get money for college?

How can I get money to go to college and get an apartment?

  • I need money to move out and get an apartment and go to college. I have no money/savings. I have no family or anything like that to help me pay for that...just me. I am living with some really nice people without them I would be on the streets. They can't help. I am out of high school. I have my GED though. I want to go make something of my self and my life...I don't want to live in section 8 housing and be on food stamps. I have made some mistakes but it's time to move on....how can I go about doing that? How can I go about getting money to pay for an apartment and college? Where does one start. I know absolutely NOTHING about this...so explain. please.

a student loan, then work part or full time in some other job to pay off the apartment bills

I really really really don't want to sound like a jerk here... But.. Um... Have you considerred getting a job? I go to school full time at night, work full time during the day in an office, and I'm a single mom to two small children. So if time is an issue with you, I don't really want to hear it. LOL. Even working part time, is better than working no time.

First, apply to the college and get accepted. They will help with college housing. I have loans paying for college and my apartment. If you are lucky and are dirt poor, you can get money from the government. Google FAFSA. You should fill that out ASAP. I got $5000 in grants from FAFSA. Grants never have to be paid back while loans do. Sallie Mae is probably the only lender right now that will give money for college.
