If the tuition of a college is about 6000 a year, how much money will an average student have in scholarships?
-
How much of tuition is paid in an average amount of scholarship money?
-
Answer:
There is no average, how much a student receives in scholarships depends on how many scholarships the student actually received, and the amount of each one (there is no limit on how many a student may receive in scholarships). Realistically, you can get scholarships to cover the whole $6,000. You will just have to apply to as many scholarships as possible (as many as you want!), and hope that you win.

Many scholarships offer $500 or $1000 to the winning essay. There is no average because how much scholarship money a student gets depends on how much work and effort they put into earning them. I wonder if you are possibly thinking of government grant money. Grants are based on need and are only available at the Bachelors and Associates level- not graduate. Maximum grant money is $5500 per academic school year. You apply for grants by filling out the FAFSA, which stands for "free application for federal student aid." Make sure you are on the government site- some sketchy sites look like the government but then try to charge you for your free application. Most schools have financial counselors who will help you fill out your application.

There are different types of scholarships. You could get local ones from the community, you can get merit ones that are based on grades, or you can apply for them. My husband's cousin just got her BA in nursing and she had excellent grades in school and she said she applied for so many scholarships the first 2 years and she did not even get one. Because its long process. They usually want a bunch of stuff including letters of recommendations and then you have to write an essay on a topic and only one will get it or a few and so many apply. So it will be work and you have a chance but dont count on scholarships to pay your way.

Average students don't get scholarships. Scholarships are given to those who make outstanding grades and have awesome admission test scores. If you are just average, don't count on any scholarships.
