What are the pros and cons of foreign aid?

Pros and Cons of Indepeneent due to mariage - Colege Aid?

  • At 18 i have found the love of my life. No doubt in my mind. Now here is my situation. I applied and was accepted into the college that i want but have declared myself dependent with FAFSA and was awarded $3500 in stafford loan. That's all. Now what happens if i get married. Do you think financial aid will help me much more? For this $18,000 per year college... Also when getting married at such a young age. What are the pros and cons. Filing income taxes together is an obvious. What about living...would i have to live with my wife or could i live in a dorm...where it coudl be cheaper? Advice Please! Thank you so much!

  • Answer:

I suppose you could live in the dorm if you wanted too... but if you have to ask then your not ready to get married and she's not really the love of your life is she.

Other answers

If you are considered married then they will combine your incomes which may or may not affect your FAFSA. The only thing getting married does is make you independent from your parents, not more need-based then others. As for getting married, that's your business.
