Is a federal pell grant the same as the texas pell grant? or they different? What is the max u can get?

A federal pell grant is from the federal government and a Texas Pell is from the state government. How much you get depends on a few factors: How much your yearly income is, if you are dependent(living with parents) or independent, what college you plan on attending, and how often you plan on going (full-time 12+ credits,part time, or just one or two classes). For example, to go to a community college i received a letter saying for full time i will get $2,000, 2/3 time i will get $1500, half time $1,000, and if i only take one or two classes $500. Grants are also on a first come first serve basis, so if you turn your information in quickly you are likely to get more money, than if you wait till the cut off date alot of the money may already be gone.

federal is at the "country" level, i guess u can say and texas is at the state level i think the max is like 5000 (maybe less) but not too sure

if you are transferring to UT Austin, i just discovered, youre likelihood of getting a dorm is basically nothing, so be sure to get an apartment soon if you don't plan to commute. I have no idea about this financial aid stuff, but UT is pretty expensive for a state college, if you are transferring for sophmore yr and are tight on money to the point you are asking what the maximum loan you can get is, I might recommend going to a community college in TX (if you live there, or a cc in the state you are in) and transferring to UT for jr yr.
