There is NO need to go to school to be a pharmacy tech. No degree or formal schooling is necessary. Be advised that having pharmacy tech certification does NOT mean you will get a job, let alone a good paying one..depending on what you qualify as good paying. You will most certainly not make enough money as a tech to pay off the student loans you would have to take out to pay for a for profit school like UoP.

Both are expensive schools that won't help you get a job or a bachelor's that will be respected by anyone. You can take pharmacy tech classes at a community college, but even that's not necessary. And you should be aware that because it doesn't actually require a degree, it's not that good paying of a job. It pays better than the average retail job, but not by a lot. The average wage is only about $13/hour. Starting wages are $8-10.

Bad bad bad school!

Don't do either. 1. You don't need a degree nor a certificate to be a pharmacy technician. Drug stores train their technicians on the job. (My daughter is a Walgreen's pharmacist, and they don't care whether their techs got a pharmacy technician certificate.) 2. A degree from the U of Phoenix will work AGAINST you. It is a marginally accredited for-profit diploma mill, and few colleges honor their credits. They just advertise a lot and their ads are very misleading. In addition, most knowledgeable employers won't hire a person with a U of Phoenix "degree" on their resume. Outfits like UOP are for losers who can't even get into a community college.
