How do I get grants/scholarships for college?

If you don't have much money and thanks to the economy probably can't get a job, how can you get into college?

  • I have a friend who is really worried about getting into college, even though we are going to be highschool sophmores. Our middle school principal literally was mentally ill and gave my friend C a horrible reccomendation, so she's now in a really bad public school. She's worried that she'll fall behind in acedemics and since she doesn't have much money and the economy is bad (C doesn't think she'll be able to get a job), she won't be able to get into a college. Can C get, say, an art scholarship for college? She doesn't play sports, but she is a very good artist. Are there ways she can get into a decent college without $ or particularly good grades (her grades are good but that's because highschool is way too easy-she doesn't learn), and if so how? Thanks so much :) sorry for the stupid question- ik nothing about colleges yet :S

  • Answer:

I would encourage your friend to do her best to bring up her grades. Since you are just starting your sophomore year, she has three whole years to bring up her GPA. There are a ton of scholarships out there that are for students with good grades. You can be a very good student and not have a perfect GPA. Good luck!
