If your really good at a particular subject, offer yourself up as a tutor for others in that subject, a lot of colleges have a "student board", where you can post your services and a phone number, the amount to charge is up to you and how many students you take on is up to your schedule.

Many, many people have taken part-time jobs or started small businesses outside of college to help pay for things. Sometimes colleges themselves have work-study programs as well as jobs on campus. Some examples of small businsses include dog-walking and babysitting, using your car to run errands or deliveries for people, selling handmade crafts at fairs, singing on the subway, etc. Some popular choices for part-time jobs for students include telephone larket research and customer service jobs, retail sales, computer programming/repair, data entry, and general temp work. Whatever you you choose, you should make sure it is something with flexibility so that it is easy to take time off when you need to finish that term paper. The most important thing, though, is not to let your job distract you from your reason fro being in college. On of the best ways to do that is to try to get a job in your field of study. School work-study programs are designed to do just that. A company in the industry you hope to enter would say they needed a certain employee, and the work-study office would tell you about it. If your school does not have a work-study program, look for the companies you want to work for after you graduate, and inquire as to any openings they might have. If you want to be a comic book artist, say, and you get a job making photocopies at Marvel Comics, at least you are in the office, making frineds with the editors and ad artists, and many careers have begun just like that. And failing all else, check to see if the school hires students for any of its work, including for the cafetieria and the various offices. If done right, your job experience during school can help give you a boost into your chosen career. Captain Zorikh http://www.captainzorikh.com
