Submitted FAFSA last year didn't go to school, re-apply this year?
-
Hey, I submitted my FAFSA early last year and got the maximum ammount, however I did not attend school last year. I am planning to start college this year, should I re-submit a FAFSA, renew? Also, will there be any complications by applying this year since I submitted last year and didn't go to school? Please help! Thanks

Answer:
Yes you have to renew your Fasfa at the beginning of each year you plan on attending school. The good news is, your information should all be saved online so you will only have to update it with current information rather than start over. No, it won't complicate things for you. Once you renew it any aid you receive will be determined by the new information and will not be influenced by what you entered last time. The only thing that might hold you up is that you need to do your taxes before your Fasfa will be considered complete. You can fill it out now and enter that you "will be filing", but later it will contact you for this information.
