How do i apply for a grant?

HELP! 10 POINTS: what is a GRANT and how can i apply for one?

  • i kind of know what a grant is, but i'm not sure if i'm eligible. even if i knew that, i wouldn't know where to start. where can i find this info? also, can you explain to me what a grant is, what it does, and where the best place to apply for one is? thanks in advance!

    A grant is money that is awarded to you without expectation of being paid back. I would check with your high school counselor's office or university's financial aid office. They often have access to databases that we don't. They can be a wonderful help for you.

Well you may have wanted to add a little bit more of information in your question such as what kind of grant you were interested in seeking. A grant is a monetary award given by a founder. Most grants go to organizations that have applied to the IRS for nonprofit status and recieved the IRS's blessings as a 501(c)(3) organization. Although a few do go to individuals. There is a Grant Writing book for Dummies or perhaps you can find a course for grant writing or there is a lot of information online. I know myself I have taken a grant writing course.
